CHARLENE GREEN
Born October 31, 1938 in Las Cruces, NM. Passed Away March 10, 2013, at home in Nuevo CA. Preceded in death by her loving husband Delbert Green, parents Ed and Jewel Brown of Hatch, NM, two sisters, Eddie Sanders of Tucson, AZ and Allene Furr of Hatch, NM, her brother Ted Brown of Salem, NM as well as her grandson Matthew Stevenson of Moreno Valley, CA. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Donna and Jeff Sowards of Moreno Valley, CA, Kirk and Judi Green of Moreno Valley, CA and Becky and Doug Stevenson of Nuevo, CA; grandchildren Jacquelyn Sowards, Kelly Johnson, Amber Houser, Joseph Green, Shane Stevenson, Amanda Jewell and 9 great grandchildren: Presley Perez, Kalyn and Chloe Johnson, Josie and Taylor Houser, Tyler and Codi Equitz, Kylie Stevenson and Luke Jewell. She is also survived by her sister Deanie James of Las Cruces, NM and brothers Donald Brown of Castle Rock, CO and Jerry Brown of Tucson, AZ. Charlene and Delbert began their lives together on January 10, 1955 in Hatch, New Mexico and soon started a family of their own. In 1965, they moved to Corona, California. Charlene worked at Hayden Manufacturing for 24 years where she was a valued employee and made many life-long friends. Before and after she retired from Hayden, she also worked as a childcare provider for several families. Our mother had such an amazing gift to nurture anyone she came across who needed the abundant love she so generously offered. There were many families and lives she touched in very practical and loving ways. Little did they know when they 'hired' her, that she would so quickly become much more then thatshe never just cared for their children but the entire family and soon they all found themselves wondering how they ever did, or would, get along without her. She also worked as an Aide at a christian school and also for Riverside County Office of Education, working with children with special needs. Even though she was a busy working mother, she never neglected her own family. She always made sure we all had what we needed even if it meant she went without. She loved her family very much and then she became a grandmother and couldn't imagine ever loving anyone more. She then became a very happy great grandmother (GG). Her heart just grew and grew with all the love she carried, there for so many. Even though she left us too soon and very unexpectedly, how awesome for her to be delivered into the presence of God, literally, in the blink of her eyes. She will be missed by all who loved her and yet we know that we will be together again just as our mother had said many times "What a Great Reunion that will be"! There will be a memorial service at the First Baptist Church in Hatch, NM, March 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with interment following at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, also in Hatch, NM.
