Pamplico, S.C. - ADRONNE "GRIT" MYERS FINKLEA, age 95, 415 South Walnut Street, Pamplico, died on March 26, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Beulah Baptist Church in Hyman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the church. Mrs. Finklea was born in the Hyman Community of Florence County, a daughter of the late William Albert and Isla Brown Myers. She attended Winthrop and Coker Colleges. She worked for many years in the Pamplico Post Office and the Pamplico Public Library. She was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church and was an active member in all church activities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newell Claussen Finklea, who died in 1969; a sister, Beverly Myers Truluck; and a brother, Nickolas Carroll Myers. Surviving Mrs. Finklea is her daughter, Donna Finklea (Herman) Childers and a sister, Isla Lucille (James) Graham of Olanta; and a brother, Dr. William Albert (Anna Lee) Myers of Charleston. She also leaves a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 784 North Pamplico Highway, Pamplico, SC 29583 and Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P. O. Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648-1178.
