Matilda E. Nale, 82, of North Apollo, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. She was born in Vandergrift, the daughter of the late Thomas and Goldie (Hepler) Callen. Matilda lived in North Apollo all of her life and attended Apollo High School. She worked as a seamstress for Penn Needle Art Company. Matilda was a member of First Baptist Church in Apollo, the Kiski Penn Kampers and was a den mother in her younger years. Matilda enjoyed vacationing, watching Nascar, listening to Gospel music and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Matilda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Nale, who passed away in March of 1980 after 32 years of marriage; a brother, Paul Callen; and a sister, Dorothy Townsend. She is survived by her children, David L. "Hammer" "Sandy" Nale, of Apollo, Lana Y. Majersky, of Warren, Ohio; her grandchildren, Logan (Addie) Nale, Devin Nale, Erica Lane, Ryan (Halley) Majersky; her great-grandchildren, Jasmine Nale, Brittney and Marissa Beatty, Olivia Lane, Tanis Rabel and Noah Majersky; her sister, Della Berlin, of East Vandergrift; her brother, Shaeffer Callen, of Phenix City, Ala.; her sister-in-law, Virginia Legersky, of Apollo; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. Additional visitation will be from 10 until the hour of service at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at the funeral home with the Rev. Scott Fairman officiating. Interment will be in Apollo Cemetery .
