ADAM, IRMA EDITH BIBENS, was born to Samuel and Florence Bibens and died peacefully in the early morning hours at her family's home. A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Livermore, Irma has resided along with her husband and family in Livermore since 1958. A graduate of Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, class of 1942, and then commissioned as a WAVE officer in the US Navy in 1943, Lieutenant Irma Adam served until 1952. Irma married Jim Adam (1912-1983) in 1950 and subsequently raised a family of five children, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, all of whom survive her. Surviving children are: Catherine Adam of Walnut Creek, Jamie Adam of Livermore, Edie Adam-Howard of Hammond, Oregon, John Adam of Stockton, and Bill Adam of San Ramon. Irma is also survived by two sisters, Rowena Pearl Bibens Spencer and Frances Bibens Moore, and one brother, Calvin Bibens. A memorial Service was held at the First Presbyterian Church in Livermore on Saturday, September 21, at 11:00 AM.
