He graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO and spent the majority of his working years as a plumber.
Joe enjoyed playing pool, playing cards, and caring for his horse, Tequila. He was a Christian and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He married Billie Albertson in 1980. They later divorced.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Thomas Young. Survivors include a son, John Davisson (Ashley) of Smithville, MO; a sister, Roseanne Mitchell (Mitch) of Adrian, MO; a step-brother, Scott Young; a half-sister, Stephanie Young; a half-brother, Shawn Young; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, a great-great niece, and a great-great nephew; an uncle, Dwayne Young; and most recently, his granddaughter, Sophia Davisson.
A funeral service celebrating Joe's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Burial will follow at the East Slope Cemetery in Riverside, MO. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Asera Care Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home.
