OBITUARY :
URBAN LESLIE DURST died at the Washington County Hospital Friday at 11:15 p.m., aged 73 years.

He had been ill for one year.

A plant guard at Fairchild Aircraft Division since 1941, he was also widely known here as one of the founders of William D. Byron Post No. 1936, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a past commander of the V. F. W.

Born and reared in New Germany, Md., he was the son of Oliver and Rebecca (Strawn) Durst.

He was a 40-year member of Friendship Lodge No. 84, A.F. and A.M.; a member of the Ithiel Chapter No. 27; and a member of the Moose at Connellsville, Pa., besides serving as quartermaster of the Cooties, a VFW subsidiary.

He was a member of the 41st Volunteer Infantry in the Spnish-American War, and fought in the Philippine insurrection.

Surviving are his wife, Carrie (Mentzer) Durst, Feasterville, Pa.; children, Robert M., Lewis L., Waynesboro; M/Sgt. French S., Air Force; Arthur J., Baltimore; Rebecca Durst, Harrisburg, Pa.; Frances E. Chestain, Arlington, Va.; Miriam M. Brent, Feasterville; Mary Jane Lemon, Miami, Fla.; Martha J., Washington, D.C.; brother, French S., Connellsville; sister, Myrtle M., Connellsville; and seven grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Suter Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 o'clock at the Suter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth M. Gearhart officiating. Interment in the Arlington National Cemetery at 2 p.m. with full military honors.

Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7 until 9 o'clock.
