Grover C Sherrill, 61, died at his home in Grassy Cove Wednesday, June 23, 1943 at 10 a.m. He had been in failing health for a short time, being confined to his bed about 1 week prior to his death.
Throughout his illness, he was always cheerful and proud to meet his friends. He appreciated their visits to see him very much.
He married Lydia Jane Knox July 1, 1904 and they had 12 children, 9 of whom survive. He has lived in Grassy Cove for a number of years.
Surviving are his widow; 5 sons, Howard T, Crab Orchard; Andrew S, Cambridge City, Ind; Lester E, Brownsville, Ind; Arthur L, US Army, California; Jesse R, Grassy Cove; 4 daughters, Mrs Noel James, Grandview; Mrs Carl Cook, Crossville; Mrs Bethel Warner, Linary; Miss Louise Sherrill, Grassy Cove; 10 grandchildren.
Mr Sherrill joined the Presbyterian church at an early age. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Grassy Cove Thursday, June 24 at 10 a.m with burial in Harris cemetery.
