Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 a.m. at Holy Name Church for Antonie LaBarge, 79, of 34 Cedar St, who died Wednesday at 6 a.m. in Mercy General hospital here. Burial will be In Holy Name Cemetery. Mr. LeBarge had been failing health about a year, and was confined to the hospital for the past month. Born at Forest, NY., April 23, 1871, the son of Antotne and Laura Forky LaBarge, he was married at Beaver River, N.Y., on Jan 25, 1897 to Miss Victoria LaDue They resided at Derrick before moving to Tupper Lake nearly 60 years ago. The International Paper Co. had just erected a mill near Underwood bridge and Mr. LaBarge worked there for several years, the family residing in the little settlement at Underwood which sprang up about the mill. Nothing remains there today except the roofless walls of the brick mill and the foundations of the homes, almost lost in the undergrowth. For 31 years Mr. LaBargs served as custodian at the Faust schools, where his kindly nature and willing cooperation made htm a popular figure with pupils and teachers alike, until his retirement about six years ago. He was retired member of the local volunteer fire department. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Ben (Melvina) Demars and Mrs. Emile (Evelyn) Lalonde of this village; Mrs. Nedd (Anna) Woods of Bloomlngdale, N.Y., and Mrs. Edward (Minnie) Clark of Malone; four sons: Glenford LaBarge of Dearborn, Mich.; Wilfred LaBarge, Saranac Lake, and Clifford and Alfred LaBarge, Tupper Lake; two brothers, Charles La Barge of Clearwater, Fla., and William LaBarge, Tupper Lake; two sisters, Mrs. Napoleon (Emma) Grenier, Tupper Lake, and Mrs. Minnie Wood, Toronto, Ont; 20 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
