Mrs. Elizabeth Curry, one of the oldest residents and a pioneer of the neighborhood, died at the home of his granddaughter in Stronghurst December 16, 1909. She was over 91 years of age, and had lived in that vicinity since 1851. She was survived by two sons, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Ward and she was born In new York state in 1818. In 1834 she married James Haislett and to them were born five children. Mr. Haislett died in 1849 and she married Samuel Nichols who died within a couple of years. Then in 1854 she married George Curry of Olena, and to them four children were born, only one of whom, C.H. Curry of Stronghurst, survived. Mrs. Curry's funeral was held on the 18th, with burial in the Stronghurst cemetery.
