Ernest was born the son of Arthur and Philomene (Saucier) Boulais and passed on at the Togus Veterans Administration Hospital after a long illness.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Auburn and of Lewiston Post 22, American Legion.

Ernest served in the United States Army from September 26, 1917 to June 13, 1919. He was enlisted in Company F 327th Infantry. He was awarded WWI Victory Medal and WWI Victory Button for his service. He entered into the military in Lewiston Maine and seperated at Camp Devens, MA.

He is survived by his wife, the former Eugenie (Bourassa) Boulais of Auburn; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Theresa) Lemay of Auburn, Mrs. Henry (Irene) Cote of Thomaston, CT., and Mrs. Romeo (Alice) Cote of New Britain, CT., a son, William of Auburn; a stepson, Lawrence Desjardins of Lisbon Falls; three sisters, Mrs. Walter (Yvonne) Carville of Lewiston, Miss Lucille Boulais, also of Lewiston, and Mrs. David (Rose) King of Oakland; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ernest was predeceased by a daughter, Laura Boulais who passed on March 15, 1952 (says Lauretta on head stone)
