Maxine West Stringer
On September 5th, 2014, Maxine West Stringer went to her Heavenly home. She was born on October 18, 1921, in rural Wayne County, Mississippi. Having lived most of her life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, she and her husband moved to Blount County in 1988 and called this their new home.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Talmadge Stringer, parents, a sister and three brothers.
She leaves her daughter, Judy (Gary) Bustin of Maryville, grandchildren, Brent (Tracy) Bustin of Maryville, Garrett (Sherry) Bustin of Caledonia, MS, and Jennifer (Shaugn) McReynolds of Peachtree Corners, GA. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren, Anna and Ross Bustin, Stone and Tanner Bustin, Olivia and Maren LaValle, and Nic, Michael and Rebecca McReynolds.
She retired from Raytheon Corporation. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and sewing, but most of all, her family. She never learned to swim but took water aerobics for sixteen years.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and of the Friendship Sunday School class. She loved her church and her God and is now in His presence, leaving behind a loving family to mourn.
Receiving of friends will be at 5:30 Monday, September 8th at McAmmons-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Burial will be Tuesday, September 9th, at 10:30 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
