William James Bailey,31 of Houston, died Monday,Dec.20,1982 at a Houston hospital of injuries received in a fire at his residence. He was born Aug.9,1951 in Oklahoma City,Okla the son of William Harney and Elaine (Henderson)Bailey.

Billy was a graduate of Goddard High School in Roswell,New Mexico and of the Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans. He also received a master's degree in business from Tulane. Mr. Bailey had for the past three years lived in Houston where he was a tax attorney for Peat,Marwick and Mitchell, an international accounting firm. In his college years he spent many of his summers in Dodge City with his parents.

Mr.Bailey was a member of a Roswell, N.Mexico, Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are his parents, brother Brian of Dodge City and sister, Janet Bailey of Albuquerque,N.Mex.

Services were held at Hulpieu-Swaim Funeral Home with Rev. Lynne W. Smith officiating. Entombment at Scroggins Mausoleum at Maple Grove Cemetery.
