Obituary-Marietta Kohl
Mrs. Marietta Kohl, 80, of 2403 E. 19th St., Sterling, died Saturday afternoon in her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Donald Pritz, pastor, officiating Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Behrens-Blair Funeral Home. Rebekah services will be held at 8 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory to St. John's Lutheran Church. Mrs. Kohl was born on Jan. 19, 1902 in Morrison, the daughter of William and Emma (Nice) Ferry. She was united in marriage to August Kohl on Feb. 9, 1923 in Dixon. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. the Women's Relief Corps, Past Noble Grand and financial secretary for the Sterling Rebekahs,Auxiliary member of the Social Circle of St. John's Lutheran Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Arza Spooner of Sterling; three children; two great-grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. Florence Knox of Sterling, Mrs. William (Alice) Snider of Milledgeville, Mrs. Marguerite Fritz of Lanark and Mrs. Richard (Helen) Jones of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
