Sarah Lavinia "Vinnie" Grant DeHart Gasaway
She was born 13 MAR 1892 on Wesser Creek in Nantahala Township, Swain County, NC to Alfred Monroe "Ab" Grant and Lucinda Jane Truitt Grant.

She married George Washington DeHart.

George and Vinnie had 5 children:

Arthur Amos DeHart 16 AUG 1908
Fred DeHart 26 NOV 1910
Ray A DeHart 14 MAY 1912
Hazel Modena DeHart 18 MAR 1915
George Wayne DeHart 26 MAR 1917

After George died,(1917), Vinie married John Fretwell "Johnny" Gasaway (the widower of her sister Callie).

She had no children with Johnny Gasaway.

She lived on Wesser Creek in the curve before the church. She was a beautiful woman, even when she was very old.

She died in Catawba County on 23 JUL 1981 (She lived on Wesser Creek in Swain Co, NC even when she was elderly though; her home was on what is now Gasaway Road, across from the Cemetery)
