OBITUARY Iron River Reporter June 24 1932 "Mrs. Clements, 74, Dies, Buried: Funeral For Former Saunders Resident Held At St. Mary's Church"
Mrs. Emma Clements, 74, of Rogers, died at the Crystal Falls hospital Tuesday evening at 6:15 o'clock of leakage of the heart. Funeral services were held this morning at the St. Mary's Catholic church at Gaastra with burial in the Stambaugh cemetery. The Rev. Father Albert Treilles officiated.
Mrs. Clements was 74 years, 5 months, and 21 days of age at the time of her death. She was born in Canada October 2, 1857 and came to this country 52 years ago with her husband. Her husband preceded her in death 12 years ago.
The family first lived at Saginaw for ten years, Marinette one year, Crystal Falls two years, and near Saunders since 1888 on a homestead. Recently Mrs. Clements has been living with a daughter, Mrs. Alton Shepherd, at Rogers.
Survivors are nine children and two step-children as follows: Mrs. Ada Sherman, Detroit; Peter Clements of Saunders; Bert Clements of Detroit; Paul Clements of Milwaukee; Frank Clements of Gaastra; Mrs. Mary Waynard of California; Alfred Clements of Saunders; Mrs. Sol Johnson of Bates; Mrs. Alton Shepherd of Rogers; Mrs. Paul Schook of Crystal Falls; and Mrs. George Schwartz of Green Bay.
Two brothers and one sister also survive. They are Archie Belongie of Daggett and Frank Belongie of Pentoga, brothers, and Mrs. Paul Londo of Goodman, sister.
Thirty-two grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers at this morning's funeral were six grandchildren, Peter, Bert, Frank, Melvin, and Harry. [only 5 named here]
A profusion of flowers was banked about the coffin during services.
