OBITUARY
January 9, 1970

Everett Watson, 57, of l307 Piedmont Park Road, died at a local hospital today at 3:30 a.m. after one-week illness.
A native of Batesburg, he was a son of the late Charles and Lena King Watson. Most of his life he had lived in Greenville, and for a number of years he made his home in the Poe community before moving to his present address l5 years ago. He was a master mechanic at Poe Mill. He was a member of Poe Baptist Church, of the Men's Bible Class, a member of Sam Poe Lodge 284, AFM and the Hejaz Temple of the Shrine and the Scottish Rite.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Winnie Ward Watson; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce W. Carter of Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. Belle W. Johnson of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Lena Holtzclaw of Greenville; two brothers, Luther Watson and B. E. Watson of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at Poe Baptist Church Saturday at 4 p.m. by Rev. Trenton Connelly, Rev. Cecil Cothran and Rev. Grange Cothran.
Burial will be in Mountain Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The body will remain at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
