Bernice Wombles, 86, of Chillicothe, MO, died Friday, July 9, 2004, at the Indian Hills Retirement Center in Chillicothe. She was born May 26, 1918 to William Irvin and Eva Ator Hillman in Pike County. She married Paul Russel Wombles Oct 20, 1934 in Pittsfield. He died Jan. 27, 1990. Mrs. Wombles was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Atlas. She was involved with and enjoyed the Church of God, gardening, knitting and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Donald Wombles. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 13, at 11 a.m. at the Ward-Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill. Family visitation was Tuesday from 9 – 11 a.m. and friends could visit from 8 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Burial was at Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
