Vida Canter, age 92, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Mena.
She was born in Pine Ridge, Arkansas, March 12, 1921 to the late Jimmy and Bertie Lenard.
Vida was the owner and operator of the Ink Snack Bar for over thirty years. She enjoyed and loved her customers. She loved to fish and could she "wet" a hook in water! Vida enjoyed going to the horse races. Vida loved to garden and she would be out there today "tilling" and getting ready to plant those potatoes. Most of all she loved her family, neighbors and her animals. Vida was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and a friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by all.

Son: Steven Lenard Tallman and wife Lynda of Lake Orion, Michigan

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Bertie Lenard, brothers, Raymond, and Harris, sisters, Wadie, Sadie, and Gladys.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 18, 2013, 3:00 p.m. at the Beasley Wood Chapel in Mena. Interment will follow in the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Pine Ridge, Arkansas under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Family and friends visitation will be Sunday, March17, 2013 at 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Pallbearers will be Steven Tallman, Mike Oglesby, Danny Hansbrough, David Maxwell, Billy Strothers, Shelton Bohlman, Kevin Campbell, and Danny Miner.
