CIVIL WAR VETERAN DIES.
John Hendricks, a veteran of the civil war, succumbed to cancer of the stomach yesterday at his residence, E917 Ermina avenue. He was 78 years old and a native of Jefferson county, Pa., having married July 27, 1854, Miss Anstress L. Winston. During the civil war he served the One Hundred and Sixty-fifth regiment of Pennsylvania volunteers. He came to Spokane from his native state a year ago. He leaves two daughters and six sons – Mrs. C.T. Winslow, Colville, Wash.; Mrs. W.N. Glass, Matteawan, N.Y.; J. S., R.M. and H.M Hendricks of Decatur, Mich., and K.J. Hendricks of Beaver Falls, Pa.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday from the New England undertaking chapel.

The funeral of John Hendricks, who died Saturday at the family residence, E917 Ermina avenue, takes place from the New England Undertaking company's chapel this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. THe Rev. C. O. Kimball, pastor of the Vincent M. E. church, is to officiate. Burial will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
