HOGAN - Paul E., 86, of Mount Washington, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Baptist Health Louisville. He was born in Raywick, KY, to the late William Penn & Pearl Gaddie Hogan. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army and a Kentucky Colonel. Paul was a plumber and was a member of Local #107. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Don & Wayne Hogan; and a sister, Virginia Buttermann. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Ruley Hogan; three daughters, Glenda Hogan Spalding, Paula Hogan and Leigh Ann Banta (Richard); grandchildren, Paul & Travis Spalding and Kaitlin, Rachel, Trey & Alyssa Banta; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Spalding and Jacob Clancy. He is also survived by his wife's family who he thought of as his own, Lawrence Ruley (Martha), Jean Smith (Kenny), Charlie Ruley (Joyce), Mary Hayden, Faye Hayden (Jimmy), Joyce Miles, and Paul Ruley (Darnell); as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A celebration of his life will be conducted Saturday at noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with private burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. - noon on Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to DAV.
