Obit: Jay D. Arnott, 78, Rogersville, died Saturday [January 15, 1994] evening after an extended illness. He was a life long resident of Hawkins County, a retired farmer and a member of the Otes United Methodist Church where he served as pianist for a number of years. He was the son of the late James D. and Laura Lauderback Arnott. Surviving are his wife, Inez G. Arnott of the home; one daughter, Libby Davis of Morristown; two grandchildren, Cherie and Kenny Davis, both of Morristown; three sisters, Odell Davis of Nashville, Grace Berry of Rogersville, and Irene Spangler of Knoxville; one brother, Robin Arnott of Rogersville, a number of nieces and nephew. Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at Broome Funeral Home with the Revs. Bobby Tucker and Leroy Davis officiating. Family will receive friends prior to the services.
