On March 10, 1922 Ketchum was admitted into the hospital and passed away at 10:00 a.m. on the morning of March 16, 1922. His cause of death was listed as something pertaining to his brain but the doctor's handwritting on his death record is not readable enough to make out as to what was wrong with his little brain. He was buried in the Holly Cemetery in Alcorn County, Mississippi on March 17, 1922. His death cert was signed by a Dr. Ketchum... possible that Ketcham Stewart was named after this doctor? The family lost 3 children before the age of 6, each death cert found for them was signed by Dr. Ketchum... might have been a family doctor...
