Scott, Lola
Lola (Whalen) Scott, 90, of West passed away on Thursday, June 5, 1997, at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Dr. Don Ketcham officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery near Aquilla. Mrs. Scott was born Dec. 12, 1906, in Aquilla. She was baptized at the age of sixteen in Patton Beach near Aquilla. She married Wade Calvin Scott on Dec. 13, 1925, in West. He preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1977. She lived in West 45 years, after moving from Tokio Community. She was a homemaker, housewife, and devoted mother who never worked outside her home. She attended Tokio Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Phoebie Scott, who died on June 29, 1933. She is survived by three sons, Billy Wade Scott and Calvin (Bob) Scott of West and Jerell Scott of Hewitt; five daughters, Drue Pack, Sandy McGhee and Jeanne Kapczynski, all of West, Naomi Jeanette Parker of DeSoto, and Mollie Holecek of Ross; two brothers, Sam Whalen of Rowlett and William (Jr.) Whalen of Arlington; one sister, Willie Ryno of Whitney; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials to West Ambulance Association. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
