On April 15, 1916, she and Joseph Cabanaw, son of Frank & Matilda Embrick Cabanaw, were married by a Justice of the Peace. Their marriage application records state that it was the first marriage for both of them. By 1932 Joseph and Barbara had had four children, Joseph E Jr., William L, Leon M, and Richard.
By the time of the 1940 census, Joseph had remarried, was living in Mishawaka, and was working as a butcher for a slaughter company. Barbara and the children were living on Corby Street in South Bend, and she was working as a laundress at a private school.

No grave marker. The cemetery records, as microfilmed in 1989, shows her gravesite is between the gravestones of the Niezgodski and Kroetz families in section D, row 13.
