For some reason, William decided to change his last name to TAYLOR. He was born, William H. LITTLE. I have this information on family records from the Little side of the family that date back to 1978. The only thing I can figure out is that he was left an orphan at age 15 when his father died. His mother died when he was 8 years of age. His father remarried about three months later. Then, his father, Lewis Hogan Little, and his three older brothers, John, James & Samuel all joined up as Texas Volunteers in the Civil War. None of the four returned home as they all died while serving as soldiers. It is possible that William then lived with his aunt, Mary Margaret (Little) Taylor who married a man also named William Taylor. They may have adopted this William after the death of his father in 1862.
