SPRUCE PINE - Joyce Ollis, 70, of Dale Road in the Grassy Creek community, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at her home. Born on Sept. 21, 1942 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Purtle and Lizzie Hollifield Biddix. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Ollis, who passed away in 2006; her brothers, Dennis Biddix and wife, Wilma, and Daniel Biddix; and her sister, Betty Jane Ollis. She was a member of the Grassy Creek Baptist Church, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
