Golden Wedding
Fifty Years of Wedded Life Marked With Celebration Sunday

St. Peter's Catholic church, where fifty years ago Mr. and Mrs. N.J. Seifert, of southeast of town, were united in holy bonds by marriage. The church was most attractively decorated for the occasion, the color note of yellow and white predominating. Rev. Father John R. Forrer celebrated the Nuptial High Mass at 7:30 o'clock and the couple renewed their vows in the presence of a large assembly of relatives and friends.

On October 23, 1882, at St. Peter's church, Miss Elizabeth Benner became the bride of N. J. Seifert, Rev. Father Charles Brasclter officiating. The single ring service was read. The couple was attended by Mrs. Charles Benner, nee Susan Seifert, sister to the bridegroom, as bridesmaid, and Charles Benner, brother of the bride, as best man. Mrs. Benner, who resides in Tiffin, was present Sunday. Mr. Benner is deceased. Present Sunday, who were also present at the happy event a half century ago were Joseph Seifert and Miss Theresa Seifert, of Tiffin, brother and sister of the bridegroom; Mrs. Katherine Kromer, of Carey; Mrs. Joseph Weinandy, Miss Mary Benner and Louis Benner, of this city, sisters and brother of the bride, and John Casey, of this city.

At noon Sunday a sumptuous wedding dinner was served at the Seifert home, with sixty members of the immediate families and several guests present. A feature of the three-course dinner was a large wedding cake, decorated in yellow and white and on which were the fords "Fifty Years." The rooms of the home were handsomely arranged with yellow fall flowers. Those present at the dinner besides those named above, who were also at the wedding fifty years ago, were the honored couple, Misses Clara and Hilda Seifert, Edward and Fred Seifert, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Seifert and son Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fischer and family, Joseph Weinandy, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Logsdon and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Thiel and family, of in or near this city; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Zachardy and family of Dayton; Mr. Mrs. Paul Leser and family, of Marion; Lawrence Logsdon of Toledo; Louis and Richard Logsdon, Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Logsdon and son Gene, Mrs. Joseph Seifert and Rev. Father August Seifert, cousin of Mr. Seifert, all of Tiffin; Rev. Father Forrer and Miss Mary Forrer, of this city.

During the reception in the afternoon and evening about 150 relatives and friends called. Mr. and Mrs. Seifert received many attractive and useful gifts in gold bouquets of flowers and letters of congratulations.

Mrs. Seifert, who was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Benner, was born at Sandusky and is age seventy two years. Mr. Seifert is aged seventy nine years and was born at Tiffin to Mr. and Mrs. Philip Seifert.

Both the parents of Mr. and Mrs. Seifert lived to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Seifert are the parents of ten children, all of whom are living. There are twenty-one grandchildren and one great-grandchild, the family circle having never been broken by death.

The Daily Chief joins in the entire community in extending to the aged couple on this happy occasion hearty congratulations and best wishes.
