Wife of Alderman S. L. Russell Dies On Christmas Night
Heart Trouble Cause
Mrs. Edith Bunting Russell, wife of Alderman S. L. Russell, died at the family home Thursday night at 10 o'clock, of heart trouble, after an illness of about nine weeks, seven weeks of which she was confined to her bed. She began sinking on Christmas eve, but the end did not come till the hour above named.
Edith Bunting, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Bunting of Albion, was born May 3, 1885, in Albion. At the time of her death she was 28 years 7 months and 22 days.
She was a graduate of the Albion high school and the musical department of the S. C. I. at Albion. On May 8, 1906 she was married to S. L. Russell, who with one son, Charles, 4, survives. She is also survived by her parents, two sisters, Alice and Minnie, and four brothers, Lewis, Cameron, Harold and Dennis, all of Albion. Her mother and sister Alice were with her when the end came.
The funeral will be held from the residence, 301 Pear street, Saturday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. J. G. Tucker." [Daily Republican-Register, Mount Carmel, Illinois, 26 Dec 1913, Fri p. 1]
