A sad and fatal accident occurred in Lake Fremont township Saturday evening, April 30th at 8 o'clock. While preparing for a drive Louis, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Ziemer, was kicked in the abdomen by a horse. He was able to walk to the house and tell of the accident. Dr. M. J. Farrish of SHerburn was called to the bedside of the injured man but his injuries were beyond medical aid. He suffered great pain until Sunday, May 1st at 11 o'clock a.m. when he passed to the great beyond. He was 24 years, three months and seven days old. He was an honest and upright young man of good characater and was well liked by all who knew him.
He was born and grew to manhood in Lake Fremont township, where he remained his entire life making his home with his parents, where he was most needed. He left to mourn his departure his father, mother, four sisters, seen brothers and a host of relatives.
The surviving brothers and sisters are Will of Kiester, Minn.; Mrs. W.W. McCorckle, Dunnell; Ernest of Sherbvurn; Mrs. S.L. Rose of Huntington; Mrs. John Juhl, Estherville; Mrs. Joel Detienne, Jay township; Charley, Jess, Harry, George and Hubert at home.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 2nd at 2 o'clock p.m. at the M.E. Church in Dunnell by Re. G. C. Lee of the Ceylon M.E. Church. The remains were laid to rest in the Lake Fremont Cemetery.
