On June 24, 1945, Alvin was united in marriage to Bernetta Wilhelm at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Penn Township.
He became a resident of the Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care on November 7, 2003, and passed away there. Funeral was held Saturday, December 15, 2007, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Penn Township with Pastor Andrew Hermodson-Olsen officiating.
