John Ely, a well known citizen residing four miles southeast of Moravia, died on last Tuesday night We are told his death was the result of heart disease He was accidentally shot in the breast some years ago, and he suffered constantly with the wound until his death. He was a pioneer of the county, having resided near Milledgeville until about twelve years ago when he moved southeast of Moravia He was about 56 years of age His neighbors and acquaintances speak of him as an honest and worthy citizen, and they deeply lament bis death. The funeral services were conducted in the church.
