Geneva Faith Morton, 93, of Grand Island died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island, with a family prayer at 9:45 a.m. The Rev. Jack Gillam will officiate. Burial will be at the Ainsworth Cemetery at 4 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. George Williams officiating. All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Morton was born May 16, 1919, at Ainsworth to George and Iva (Henderson) Fernau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.

Survivors of the immediate family include a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Victor Clark of Grand Island; stepchildren, Melissa, Hal and Lill; brother, Kenneth Fernau of Grand Island; and a sister, Barbara Rohweder of Grand Island.

Other survivors include grandchildren, Steve Schmitt and Misty Barnes; great-grandchildren, Matthew Shrock Schmitt, RaeLysa Schmitt, Sydney Schmitt, Emily Barnes and Katie Barnes; stepgrandchildren, Kimberly Friesen and Richard Clark and stepgreat-grandchildren, Siarra, Brittanie and Alexandria.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Willard, Neil and "Bud" Marvin and sisters, Beulah, Erna, Lorena, Evelyn and Lola.

Geneva was raised on a family farm near Ainsworth and graduated from Ainsworth High School, class of 1937. She married Wiley Watkins in 1941. Later she was united in marriage to Robert Morton in 1984. They lived in Fort Collins, Colo. In 1990, they moved to Mesa, Ariz., then to Sun City. Mr. Morton died in 1998. Geneva moved to Grand Island in 2001.

She worked for Rural Electrical Association and later as a bookkeeper for Union Manufacturing where she retired.
