PFC US ARMY WW2Roy Lee Norwood, age 85 of Ola, died Sunday. He was born September 19, 1922 in Goree, Texas. He was the son of the late Elmer James and Celestie Jane Deathridge. He was a poultry farmer, a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Imogene Taylor Norwood; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Mary Norwood of Nash, Texas, Keith and Pam Norwood of Wake Village, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Dale Wilson of Ola; brothers, Carl Norwood, Joe Norwood, and Billy Jay Norwood, all of Texas; sisters, Neoma Henderson of Texas, Irene Sanderson and Lillie Etta Webb and Lois Riggs all of Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
