Gipson Pounds, 93, of Ashdown, AR passed away March 4, 2013 in Ashdown, AR.

Mr. Pounds was born June 7, 1919 in Ashdown, AR. He was a member and Deacon of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Ashdown, AR. He is retired from North American Tank Car Company. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Lola Pounds; seven brothers, Monroe, Buddy, Britt, Forrest, Charles Ray, Nookie, and Jack; three sisters, Autherine Osborne, Exie Lee Phillips, and Quillie Hughes.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Allie Mae Golden Pounds of Ashdown, AR; son and daughter-in-law, Billy & Doris Pounds of Ashdown, AR; grandchildren, Mark Pounds and his wife Ronda of Ashdown, AR, Jennifer Burrow and her husband Tony of Texarkana; great grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, and Noah Pounds, and Eli and Kyle Burrow.

Funeral Services will be Thursday March 7, 2013 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Jay Baker and Lynn Green officiaitng. Burial will follow at Ashdown Cemetery in Ashdown, AR.

Visitation will be Wednesday March 6, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, AR.

Arrangements are under the direction of Madden Funerla Home.
