Mary Matthews - widow of the late Thomas Ellison Matthews, died last Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs John A. Collins, at the advanced age of 85 years.
Mrs. Matthews for several years had been afflicted with asthma. A few months ago she was declared incompetent to manage her own affairs and Charles E. Close was appointed her guardian.
She leaves five sons - James V.P., John V. P., William, Thomas V.P. and Jacob V.P. and one daughter.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. Samuel Bower officiating.
Interment was in the Van Pelt Burying Ground.
