Betty Longacre, 75, of Bloomfield passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005, in Farmington. Betty was born Dec. 24, 1928, in McAlester, Okla. to Sidney and Mable Brooks.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Tony Longacre Sr. to whom she was married for 50 years; and five brothers and sisters.
She is survived by son, Tony Longacre Jr. of Bloomfield; son, Larry Longacre and wife, Debbie of Alamogordo; daughters Terry and Stacey Longacre, both of Bloomfield. Also surviving are grandchildren, Nicole and Kristopher Longacre, and Tyler and Geno Gurule; and a great-grandchild, Leighanna Longacre.
Betty met her husband in Okla. and in 1949, moved to New Mexico. When they arrived in Bloomfield in 1957, she knew immediately Bloomfield was the place she wanted to raise her family. Betty was a dedicated member of her church and a life member of DAV.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today, March 15 at St. Mary’s in Bloomfield. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 16 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomfield with Father James E. Walker celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bloomfield.
