Wounded by shell at Strawberry Hill, Richmond, Virginia, on March 1, 1864 during the Kilpatrick-Dahlgren Raid on Richmond. Also listed as wounded in leg on May 12, 1864. Discharged by General Order No. 77 A.G.O. on May 23, 1865 at Harper's Ferry, Virginia.
Lived in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, after the war. Filed for a pension on August 24, 1865, application number 84,992, certificate number 76,135. Wife Lucy A. Baldwin filed for a widow's pension on July 15, 1909, application number 923,763, certificate 689,762 from Ohio.
