Services Held for Mrs. Beebe, Mother of Leah Chadwick
Mrs. Alice Beebe, wife of the late William Sherman Beebe, died at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, February 24 at the Heritage House in Atlantic. She had been a patient there for two weeks. Mrs. Beebe was the mother of Mrs. Keith Chadwick, of Storm Lake, formerly of Anita. Mrs. Beebe was born in Cass County, 25 October 1892, the daughter of John and Mariah Patton Barnholdt and was married at Sac City on August 4, 1921 to Sherm Beebe. They lived in Wiota prior to moving to Atlantic in December 1948. Mr. Beebe died January 17, 1940. She is survived by the daughter, Mrs. Keith (Leah) Chadwick of Storm Lake; two sisters, Mrs. William Linke of Atlantic and Mrs. John Spies of Elk Horn; three grandchildren and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 27, at 2:30 at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. The Rev. L. E. Gatch of Farragut, formerly of the Anita Congregational Church, officiated. Mrs. Kenyon King accompanied Mrs. Harold Smith as she sand, "In the Garden" and "Rock of Ages," Casket bearers were Marvin Taylor, Charlie A. Foster, Bruce Blake, Paul Mailander, Henry Hoover and Bill Jacobson, Burial was in the Atlantic Cemetery.
