...Homer Wireman, age 100, of Marshall died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Barnabus Adult Foster Care Home, Marshall.
...Mr. Wireman was born on February 22, 1913 in Magoffin Co, Kentucky to Lewis and Viney (Oliver) Wireman. He had been a long time resident of the Lee Township area and had also lived in the Bradenton, Florida for 16 years. Homer engaged in farming and owned a farm in Lee Township. He had also worked for the Eaton Corporation in Marshall as a Machinist. He retired from Eaton's in 1973 after over 22 years of service.
...On September 24, 1929, he married the former Dora Conley in Hindman, Kentucky. She preceded him in death on November 18, 1991. Then on March 3, 1992, he married the former Stella Snook in Bradenton, Florida. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2011.
...Homer was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Olivet. He loved the outdoors and working in the soil. In addition to his farming, he enjoyed lovingly tending to his gardens and canning the vegetables he grew. Homer also enjoyed coin collecting.
...He is survived by daughters, Tural McDonald of Denver, CO, Pauline Edison of Pensacola, FL, Loretta (James) England of Olivet, Norma Jean (Rev. David) Koons of Alligator, Mississippi and Pat (William) Wheeler of Box Elder, SD; sons, Kenneth (Betty) Wireman of Lakeland, FL and Homer Dan (Kathleen) Wireman Jr. of Venture, IA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 10 sisters.
...Friends may call at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 PM to 7 PM. A funeral service to celebrate the gift of his life will be held 11 AM Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Todd McLane officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Center Cemetery.
