Clarence J Stoker

Clarence John Stoker, 88, passed away peacefully, February 20, 1995, at Davis Hospital and Medical Center following a stroke.

He was born February 28, 1906 in Syracuse Junction, Utah; later renamed Clearfield, a son of Davis Stoker, Jr. and Emma Stahle. He married LaPrele Thacker on May 29, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He lived his entire life in Clearfield, attending Davis County schools, farming and working for Davis County, and later working for Clearfield City as a building inspector and the city manager, retiring after 20 years of public service.

He was active in the LDS Church. His church service included two missions, first bishop of the Clearfield 2nd Ward, High Councilman, home teacher, and numerous other positions.

He is survived by his wife, LaPrele; three sons, Blen David (Betty), Fairfax, Virg.; Duane Clarence (Carolyn), Clearfield; Don Stahle (Joycelyn), Slidell, Louisiana; one brother, Golden L., Logan; and three sisters, Bertha Harris, Logan; Lola Thurgood, Clearfield; Mary Heiner, Roy; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 24, 1995 at 11 a.m., at the Clearfield Stake Center, 935 South State. Friends may call Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State and Friday, at the stake center from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
