Death of John Marshall

It becomes our duty this week to chronicle the death of John Marshall, which occurred at his residence in Parker City on Sunday last. John Marshall was born in Greensburg Jan. 11th, 1803, and was therefore in the 87th year of his age at the time of his death.

Deceased was a brother of the late [sic.] Mrs. Mary Marshall Bailey, and a half-brother of the late Mrs. Elisha Robinson, of Hovey township, and the late Col. Frederick Rohrer of Greensburg. He was one of the pioneers of old Perry township before Hovey was taken off, and one of the founders of old Lawrenceburg, which is now known as Parker on the hill, or the second ward of Parker. He was a prominent citizen for many years in that section of the county, and, until infirmities overtook him, one of the leading Democrats of that locality.
