Michael McKeough Made Home Here for ¾ Century Michael McKeough, pioneer of Manitowoc County, having resided in the Town of Kossuth for 75 years, died at his home last night at the age of 81. Death was due to infirmities of age. Funeral services will be held Thursday at Riefs Mills at 10 oclock. Mr. McKeough, who was born at Toronto, Canada, August 16, 1842, is the last survivor of seven brothers of his family. He came to Manitowoc county when but nine years of age and for three quarters of a century had made his home in Kossuth where up until a few years ago he was actively engaged in farming. In late years, age had made it impossible for him to continue the management of the farm but he retained his supervision of his affairs to the end. Mr. McKeough was married 60 years ago to Rose Vraney who with six children survive to mourn his death, Mrs. Nelson Valley, Negaunee, Mich.; John, of Superior; Edward, Valley City, Neb.; Albert J., this city; Oscar, Shelbyville, Ill.; and Fred on the old homestead at Kossuth. Ten grandchildren also survive. Mr. McKeough was well known in the community where he resided and in this city and was universally esteemed. He was probably one of the oldest residents in point of continuous residence in the county.
