John McKeough, well known farmer of the Town of Franklin, died at the Holy Family hospital Saturday night at 7 oclock. He underwent an operation for cancer of the stomach one week ago today and while everything was apparently in his favor and the operation appeared a success he had been a sufferer so long that he did not have the vitality necessary to recuperation. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning with service at St. Augustine Catholic church at Reifs Mills and burial at the St. Augustine cemetery. John McKeough was born on the farm where he now lived, 58 years ago, and during all his life had made his home there. Twenty-three years ago he was married to Miss Kate Buresh, the wife who survives to mourn his death. No children were born to the couple and the only other survivors are a brother, Thomas J. McKeough, formerly alderman of the Sixth Ward of this city and one sister, Mrs. William Reitmeyer of Whitelaw. Mr. McKeough was a home man, was a member of no fraternal orders and never held public office but he did serve his church in a
number of official capacities. His death will come as a shock to a wide circle of friends.
