OBITUARY: Elijah Hendershot, 91, Carpenter, Expires
Elijah Hendershot, age ninety-one, life-long county resident, died early Friday morning at the home of his grandson, Noble Hendershot, in Acme, after an illness of three months'duration.
Mr. Hendershot was born November 7, 1883, in Brown county, but had lived in the vicinity of Spraytown, Surprise and Acme all of his life and was well known throughout the county by a hose of friends. He was a carpenter by trade.
His wife, Mrs. Mine Hendershot, preceded him in death last summer, and since that time he had made his home with his grandson, Noble Hendershot, at whose home he died. He was a member of the Surprise Christian Church.
Besides the grandson, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Philip Allman, who lives on a Cortland rural route, and a sister, Mrs. Hulda Higginbothan, of West Virginia.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Surprise Christian Church with the Rev. Eph Scott of Freetown in charge. Burial in the Acme Cemetery.
Friends may call at the home of Noble Hendershot in Acme after 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon.

Elijah Hendershot, age 91, one of Jackson county's oldest citizens, died at the home of his grandson, Noble Henderson, Friday at 4:30 o'clock. He had been ill three months.
Mr. Hendershot was born in Brown County on November 7, 1853. He spent practically his entire life in Jackson county. He was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of the Surprise Christian church. His wife died last summer since which time he had made his home with his grandson.
Besides the grandson he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Philip Allman of Cortland rural route, and a sister Mrs. Hulda Higginbothan, of West Virginia.
Funeral services with the Rev. Eph Scott of Freetown in charge, were conducted at the Surprise Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial in the Acme Cemetery.
