Emmagene Farr Weeks, 85, of Wiergate, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be Friday, February 13th at 2:00 p.m. in the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with burial in Weeks Chapel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Keith Weeks, Roger Morton, Steve Morton, Dwayne Parrish, Daryl Parrish, Patrick Parrish, Tom Parrish and Barry Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Lee, Eric Koch, Arthur Parrish, Billy Ricks, III and Brandon Ricks.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 12th from 5:00-9:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Emmagene was born March 12, 1918 to Ora and Lillie Farr in Jamestown, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of the Weeks Community and had worked with the Burkeville I.S.D. She will be remembered most for her love of the Lord, serving her church, her delicious home cooking, needlework, love for her family and her many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Otto Weeks on January 28, 1998; son, Clifton Weeks, and daughters, Ruby Parrish and Octarine Weeks. She is survived by her daughters, Bettye Parrish and husband, Charlie of Vidor and Marjorie Morton and husband, Earl of Bridge City; sons, Kenneth Weeks and wife, Barbara of Wiergate and Winfred Weeks and wife, Sherre of Fruitvale; sister, Ola Wilkinson and husband, Joe of Newton; brother, Ira Farr and wife, Jenoma of Cloudcroft, NM; brothers-in-law, David Weeks and Lester Weeks both of Wiergate; sister-in-law, Wanice Farr of Buna; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren.
