By 1900, Emma (49) was listed in Colquitt Town, 903rd GMD, Miller County, with her husband George W. Grimes Jr. (47, farmer); children Minnie J. (17), Bettie M. (16), Ona B. (14), Ruth (9), and Herschel V. (5); and two boarders. In 1910, in the 903rd GMD, Miller County, Emma N. Grimes (57) was listed with her husband Geo. W. Grimes Jr. (55, farm laborer), and children Ona (21), Ruth, (18), and "Hurcel" V. (16).
In 1920, in 903rd GMD, Miller County, Emma Grimes (68), was listed with her husband George Grimes (64, farmer), son "Hershall" (26), Herschel's wife Alma (23) and son Harry (8 months).
According to her death certificate, Nancy Emma Overstreet Grimes (Mrs. George W. Grimes) died 15 March 1930 of influenza and pneumonia in Colquitt, Miller County, Georgia. [Note: her grave marker lists her date of death as 2 March 1930.] She was buried 16 March 1930 at Mother's Home Cemetery in Colquitt, Miller County, Georgia.
