Was a private, 1782, in Captain Franklin's Company, 5th regiment of Connecticut.
Came to the Wyoming Valley from Stonington, CT, in 1772 with his wife and three children-Lucinda, John and Peter

Operated the Wilkes-Barre-Kingston Ferry at the time of the battle of Wyoming 3 Jul 1778.

Orginally buried in the Old Wilkes-Barre Cemetery, then removed to the City Cemetery.
