Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Mooney Mathis, wife of Carmon L. Mathis of Route One, Water Valley, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Henry funeral Home. Her pastor, the Rev. Lewis Pairrish, conducted the service. Burial was in Camp Ground Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Mooney, Clinton Mooney, Steve Jones, Wayne Harris and Michael Callahand.

Mrs. Mathis leaves her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Jimmie Jones, Mrs. Mike Callahand, Mrs. Wayne Harris and Mrs. Robert Callahand; three brothers, Hubert Mooney, Leland Mooney and Riley Mooney; two sisters, Mrs. Rayford Ramsey and Catherine True all of Water Valley, and seven grandchildren.

A native and lifetime resident of Yalobusha County, Mrs. Mathis was born May 26, 1914 in Coffeeville, Mississippi. She was a daughter of David M. and Sally Fielder Mooney. She was a member of Camp Ground Baptist Church.

Mrs. Mathis died at 1 a.m. Friday, December 2, 1977, in Yalobusha General Hospital where she had been a patient for one week.
