Born Monday, January 17, 1921 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Robert Gates and the late Lizie Adams Gates.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, David Lowery and wife Donna of Angelton, TX, Jerry Lowery and wife Cindy of Gear, SC and Jimmy Lowery and wife Joy of Saluda, NC, daughters, Jean Shelton and husband Pat of Winnfield, LA, Linda Dickerson and husband Gene of Benton, LA and Bonnie Orme and husband Steve of Hendersonville, NC; 16 grand children; 25 great grand children, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield.
