Simonton, Mary Patricia (Pat) 84, passed away February 18th 2013, at the Sherman Hospice House in Phoenix, AZ. Pat was born in 1929 to Ralph Trimmell and Clara Pratt in Coyville, KS. She worked at Boeing in Wichita, KS where she met her husband Wendell Simonton. Pat and Wendell moved to Phoenix in 1966 where they raised their three children. Pat was a member of Shepherd of the Valley United Methodist Church for 45 years.
Pat's family always came first. She made everyone feel at home. Pat loved walking, crossword puzzles, playing board games with the kids, and watching her local sports teams on T.V. When the kids and grandkids had events and games, she was always there to cheer them on. She most recently resided at Daniella's Loving Care Home in Glendale where she was made to feel at home and enjoyed social activities with the residents. She is preceded in death by her husband Wendell; her parents; brothers; Dean and Jack; and sister Sharon.
She is survived by her children; Andrea, Barry and Clarissa. Ten grandchildren; Medea Dowden, Jeremy Dowden, Joshua Dowden, Luke Luter, Thomas Simonton, Joseph Simonton, Amanda Simonton, Ciara Shaw, Anthony Acedo, Taylor Shaw and four great grandchildren; Chase Dowden, Madison Dowden, Jeremiah Dowden, Jonah Dowden.
Services will be at Simpson United Methodist Church in Alta Vista, KS, Saturday, March 2nd, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery. Lunch to follow at the church.
